Create a Unique Dining Space on a Budget

Create a Unique Dining Space on a Budget

Hi friends,

Over here at fullofsage we are all about saving the pesos and because of that we always look for ways to make our spaces appear grand but on a budget.  This week I want to figure out a way to revamp our dining space and hopefully it will inspire you too!

First look at what you already have.  I have a hand me down buffet that I'll probably never get rid of because it's beautiful.  So the inspiration of the dining space willstem from my beautiful hand me down piece of furniture.  Also to note, some people mix up buffets and credenzas however, in their defense they are very interchangeable. I would totally put a credenza in my finding room and a buffet in my family room or entry way; totally interchangeable.

Secondly look at what you need.  I need a dining table but I don't want the chairs that come with the dining table so let's hunt for the table first. You have to figure out if you want round, square, oval, or rectangular. Don't pull your hair out over this, it depends on the shape and size of your dining room.  If you have a very large dining space then you probably can do any size table. If you have a very small dining space then circle or square is probably your best bet.  If you're in the middle then rectangle may not be the best for you. Whatever your heart's desire, make sure your dining room is not only practical but a reflection of you.

Thirdly, let's look at the chairs. Chairs are all about style and comfortability.  I also like to take into consideration durability.  I had some dining room chairs once that were pretty sturdy but the dowels that connected the legs were CLEARLY non-weight bearing.  Never again.

Now let's take a look at the lighting.  Chandelier? Hanging lamps? Lamps that sit on your buffet of credenza? Take your pick. It's 2017 and there are some really fancy looking light fixtures and lamps available for you to choose from.

Lastly, let's pay attention to the walls and the floor.  I like a pop of color, paintings, and a rug to tie the entire room together.  If you want to make a big statement you want to put something on the walls.  If you want some color buy a really unique rug!

Very soon I'll be revamping my little dining room and making it into my own little space. I can't wait to use these tips and see what the finished product will be. I'm so excited!

Later peeps,
